Maintenance Volunteers Required
Now that summer is on its way, we are finding ourselves in need of more volunteers for our Monday and Tuesday morning teams.
The paths, trails, commemorative trees and new plantings are maintained by the Arboretum volunteers who give so much of their time in order that the public can enjoy this precious resource.
The general maintenance of the grass trails and paths is done on a weekly basis by two teams of volunteers each Monday and Tuesday morning. We use two John Deere riding mowers, gas and electric push mowers, trailers and Stihl gas line trimmers.
Each team has designated areas, and a team leader. Most weeks there is a regular routine, and each team shares the tools amongst theselves. However, on occasion, there are special projects or trail development to be completed.
We will require additional people to take us through the summer months and into fall if possible. Operation, equipment and safety training will be provided. Experience is not necessary but general home outdoor maintenance experience is beneficial.
If this sounds interesting, please send an email to [email protected] stating any experience you may have.
Note: these positions are not suitable for students.
