Terry Fox Run in the Arboretum

The annual Aurora Terry Fox Run will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 in the Aurora Community Arboretum (ACA). This national event occurs rain or shine. Organizers have hosted it in the Aurora Community Arboretum for several years and this year it is being organized by one of our Board members.

It is a wonderful opportunity for participants to walk, run, stroll or cycle the main trails of the Arboretum during the beautiful late summer season. The Run is a non-competitive event as per Terry’s wishes, and participants can choose the distance they wish to travel (2 km or 10 km or parts thereof).

8:30 AM: In-person registration begins, behind the Aurora Seniors Centre, located at 90 John West Way, Aurora by the Petch House OR registration can be done on-line prior to the event using this link: https://run.terryfox.ca/55880

9:00 AM: Welcome to the Aurora Terry Fox Run by Organizers and greeting from Mayor Mrakas

9:15 AM to ~11:00 AM: Participants will follow the paved and crushed stone trails from Wellington Street to St. John’s Sideroad, then enjoy entertainment and light refreshments outside the Seniors Centre.

If you are visiting the Arboretum during this event and not involved in the run, please be mindful of the Terry Fox participants and keep the trail clear so they may pass.
